campaign_media_summary
Each day, we use the Quantexa News API and Google Programmable Search API to gather media coverage relevant to the thousands of active campaigns in our database.
This table shows a high-level summary of each campaign's coverage.
Field | Description |
---|---|
campaign id | Unique ID representing a specific political campaign. A campaign is a unique combination of a candidate and an election. So for a primary and general election, a single candidate would have two different unique values for campaign_id. |
search result count | Number of search results identified via the Google Programmable Search API for a given campaign in the 250-day window leading up to election day. |
article count | Number of news articles related to a given candidate published in the 250-day window leading up to election day, as surfaced through data we’ve collected from Quantexa. |
sentiment index | An average of the sentiment associated with each article mentioning a candidate (+1 is completely positive, 0 is neutral, and -1 is completely negative). Learn more about how our partners at Quantexa estimate sentiment. |
